Executive- Job Placement

Responsibilities & Context

To present and encourage "Decent Work" and its implications for the SPTC & SMIT job placement program.

Develop and distribute the required marketing and communication materials in this respect, and arrange talks with pertinent parties as needed (e.g. community, employers, trade groups, Industrial Skills Councils (ISCs), students etc.)

To support the team leader in creating and putting into practice a successful plan for finding a job and a way to work for pay.§ To support the conduction of surveys as needed to determine the skills that employers in the industry, sector, and other fields demand.

The private sector and other employers should be proactively consulted in order to detect changes in vocations and the corresponding skill needs.

TVET and the Skills Training Program should then be informed of these changes.§ To make contact with potential businesses and recruitment firms and encourage them to hire graduates of SPTC & SMIT both domestically and internationally.

To provide career counselling for students enrolled in the technical and general centers.

As resources for career counselling, identify and encourage employers, business owners, labor migrant returnees who have found success, and successful alumni from SMIT & SPTC.

In order to help interested graduates become self-employed entrepreneurs, we will support entrepreneurship development courses and give connections for obtaining startup financing.§ setting up internships or on-the-job training in various companies for graduates of SMIT & SPTC.

To create a system for locally mobilizing resources in order to meet program objectives and guarantee its efficient fulfilment.

To guarantee that funds are raised to pay for the training and education of at least 10% of SPTC and SMIT students, with a focus on underprivileged students to meet this quota.

To secure new alliances, financial possibilities, and sponsorships from businesses, organizations, people, etc.

To ensure trainee monitoring by having the Job Portal operate well, to give timely inputs, and to keep an updated database.§ To encourage hiring SPTC and SMIT graduates, regardless of gender, by raising awareness among businesses.

supporting the team leader in planning Employers Committee and Advisory Council meetings, Employer's Day, the job fair, and other regional gatherings.

To follow-up the work places and residences of the graduates to monitor post-employment status and update Job Portal, prepare and share report accordingly.

To establish and maintain linkages and network with governmental and non-governmental employers, association/organization and other stakeholders and act strategically for its functioning.

To conduct effective job counselling session and arrange mock interviews for the students/graduates of technical center.

To gather primary and secondary data for employment market surveys, tracer studies, and other research as needed.

To offer information for updating the SPTC & SMIT website as well as other communication channels and marketing initiatives as needed, and to help with the preparation of case studies of successful graduates.

Must uphold stringent secrecy for all papers, information, and other communications—both internal and external.

To do any other pertinent duties as delegated by the SPTC & SMIT authorities as needed.
