Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence

Responsible in making sure the assigned codes meet all federal, legal and insurance regulations so service payments are obtained in a timely fashion.

Resubmits it and contact the provider to ensure the correct code was used, in the event a claim is denied.

Oversees the process of retrieving patient information and obtains all missing information in patient charts

Protects confidential medical information following HIPAA guidelines

To communicate with clients when need arises.

To complete the job well within the turnaround time (TAT).

Maintain a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, disease processes and surgical techniques through participation in continuing education programs to effectively apply ICD- 10-CM and CPT coding guidelines to inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures.

Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
